The famous Russian director, actor, script writer, author and producer Nikita Mikhalkov traveled to Serbia and landed on Mokra Gora in Drvengrad by helicopter on the fifth day of the International Film and Music Festival Kustendorf 2011. Even though it is his second time as a guest of the festival, Mikhalkov was awaited with the same kind of amazement and delight as the first time in 2008. Not hiding his pleasure upon his arrival, a happy and smiling Mikhalkov responded to the numerous questions posed by the gathered journalists after he warmly greeted the Kusturica family and his associate, editor Svetolik Zajc. In front of the Kusturica family house, Mikhalkov was met by over one hundred visitors of Drvengrad, who received him with applause and took photographs with him.
On the sixth day of Kustendorf, as part of the Contemporary Trends programme, The Exodus - Burnt by the Sun 2, will be shown at 4 p.m. The movie in question is a continuation of the epic story about General Kotov, his family, and his enemies. The first part of this saga, Nikita Mikhalkov’s Burnt by the Sun, won the American Film Academy award, the Oscar, for Best Foreign Film and the Grand Prize of the Jury at the 47th Cannes Film Festival in 1994.
